THE SENSELESS is a solo "Beach Grind" side project of THE BERZERKER's bassist Sam Bean initiated with demos during 2004. Signing to Anticulture Records, a debut was slated for 2007. He would subsequently be joined by guitarist Matt Wilcock, of AKERCOCKE, ABRAMELIN, STEEL AFFLICTION and THE BERZERKER, and guitarist Ol Drake, from British Thrashers EVILE. 'In The Realm Of The Senseless', recorded at Nashville Studios in Melbourne and produced and mixed by Luke Kenny of THE BERZERKER, was issued by Plastic Head in May 2007.

In 2008 drummer Leon Macey of British act MITHRAS enrolled to record a second album entitled 'The Floating World'. This relationship resulted in Sam Bean joining the ranks of MITHRAS in early 2009.
