ADAGIO was created in 1995, an opening demo tape entitled 'Sustenuto' seeing a recording line up of vocalist Jeferson, guitarists Mario Crest and Martin with Rogério on the drums. Subsequently Ricardo 'Ratão' enrolled on bass. Crest opted out in 1997, being superseded by Douglas as ADAGIO also welcomed in new bass man M. Fernando for a second demo set 'Feeling's Of Harmony'. Themistocles was inducted on keyboards during 1998 as the band put in high profile support slots to MOONSPELL in São Paulo and ROTTING CHRIST in Santos.

In November of 1998 the band completed a third demo 'Winter', these sessions seeing Priscila as guest vocalist. In 2000 Priscila formally joined the band alongside Jeferson. A new keyboard player was found in Alessandro and then Fabiano took over the lead vocal role. Guitarist Daniel Factor would be the latest recruit.
