Biography

QUO VADIS was forged in Montréal as a 1992 covers act by vocalist / guitarist / violinist Arie Itman, guitarist Bart Frydrychowicz and drummer Yanic Bercier, subsequently drafting bassist Remy Beauchamp in 1995. For live work the band pulled in classically trained soprano guest vocalist Sebrina Lipari. Utilising engineer Pierre Remillard QUO VADIS cut their self financed 'Forever...' debut album in 1996. Favourable reviews for the band's technical brand of violin spiced Death Metal generated licensing deals with EarthAD Records in Germany and Immortal Records in Poland.

In 1999 QUO VADIS signed to Hypnotic Records, working with Pierre Remillard on second album 'Day Into Night', capitalised on by 2002's 'Passage In Time', this release a compilation of remixes, live tracks and the group's original 1995 demo tracks.

Both Itman and Beauchamp would both exit, seeing Stephane Paré take over the lead vocal role. CRYPTOPSY's Alex Auburn substituted temporarily for QUO VADIS in March of 2003. To record the band's third album Steve DiGiorgio of TESTAMENT, SADUS, DEATH, CONTROL DENIED and SADUS repute was enrolled as session bassist. QUO VADIS incorporated bassist Dominique 'Forest' Lapointe of ATHERETIC, SATANIZED, B.A.R.F. and AUGURY repute alongside guitarist William Seghers for Summer 2004 shows.

A new album, initially entitled 'To The Bitter End' but then changed to 'Defiant Imagination' and accompanied by a promotional video for the track 'In Contempt', was set for November issue through Fusion3/Skyscraper Records.

During early 2005 former QUO VADIS members guitarist/vocalist Arie Itman and bassist Remy Beauchamp teamed up with NEURAXIS and TORN WITHIN guitarist Rob Milley and drummer Tommy Kinnon in a new band called JESTER. Meantime, Roxanne Constantin recorded keyboards for AVEN AURA's debut 'The Shadow Of Idols' in February. QUO VADIS put in their debut shows in Germany during March, appearing at the 'Darkrise Metal Night' and 'Bowels-Supper Fest III' events. A gig on 7th May at The Medley in Montreal, supported by DESPISED ICON, AUGURY, SOUL OF DARKNESS and ASHES OF EDEN, saw the band performing the 'Defiant Imagination' album in its entirety for future DVD release.

Will Seghers joined NEURAXIS in April 2006. QUO VADIS teamed up with NEAERA, FEAR MY THOUGHTS and fellow Canadian headliners KATAKLYSM for the 'Road To Devastation' European tour in January 2007.
