A solo Pagan Doom Metal project of ROOT guitarist Peter ‘Blackie’ Hosek. The concept debuted in January 1997 for Tentamen Records with the album 'Bonds Of Togetherness'. With Blackie handling guitar, bass and backing vocals other contributions included ROOT's Bigboss on vocals, De Sed on vocals, Evil on percussion, pianist Radim Tic and female backing vocals from Mira Laga. These sessions had been laid down throughout 1995 and 1996 at Shaark Studios in Bzenec and Polična Studios in Valachia.
CALES signed to Redblack Production for the 2001 CALES 'Pass In Time' album would be a whole range of vocalists in DeSed, credited with 'screams and vocals', Skuny, Zuzka and Alesh. Additional instrumention came courtesy of guitarist Ashok, keyboard player Tudy and drummer Evil. Irond Records licensed 'Pass In Time' for the Russian market.
Third outing was the August 2003 offering 'Uncommon Excursion'. Skuny provided lead vocals whilst drums were delegated to René Kostelňák. Guests included DYING PASSION vocalist Zuzana Lipová, percussionist Radek Šlachta, vocalist and narrator Alesh with Ruda Cisler on saxophone.
The fourth CALES album, 'Savage Blood', was released by Metal Breath Production in September 2007.
