Power Metal act CRAYDAWN, originally entitled WISARD, was formulated by PRIMUS MOTOR guitarist Antti Wirman and keyboard player Mikael Blomberg during 1997. Guitarist Pekka Palmu was soon added to the ranks and bassist Janne 'Tukkapöyhy' Katalkin enrolled in 1998. A series of drummers finally saw the band settling on Mikko 'Basarit' Sepponen and singer Luis Herrero duly completed the line-up. A three song demo was issued as their debut product to close 1999.

Blomberg opted out in the summer of 2000 upfront of recording the WISARD album 'Open Skies'. After a spell of gigging Katalkin departed. For the group's appearance at the 2001 'Nummirock' festival Markus Lindén filled in on bass before Fabio 'Jorma' Oksanen made the position permanent. With the newly instated Vili Ollila on keyboards a further three song demo, 'Sheets Of Lies', was produced. Shortly after these sessions Jaakko 'Fleda' Teittinen took Palmu's role as guitarist. CRAYDAWN rounded up the year with a valuable support slot to SONATA ARCTICA.

Jaakko Teittinen forged a project band in 2004 entitled GASHOUSE GARDEN, comprising such scene notables as NORTHER guitarist Kristian Ranta, SINERGY and KOTIPELTO bass guitarist Lauri Porra and CHILDREN OF BODOM drummer Jaska Raatikainen. Heading up the band would be female singer Mertsa, located whilst singing AC/DC covers with her band CHINA CAT.
