Biography

Helsinki's LARHARYHMÄ is an irreverent Punk outfit comprising seasoned Metal players, fronted by 'Richard Rape', in actuality Jukka Varmo of MOONSORROW. The original 1997 formation also included guitarist Kevin Cancer, bassist Anssi Auschwitz with Edward Overdose on the drums. A demo that year was followed by a brace of Kaktus label 1998 EP's 'Tappo-oppia' and a split effort shared with NATISPASKA. A rhythm change saw bassist Sick Boy and drummer Günther Geber enrolled in 1999.

LARHARYHMÄ successive offerings would be the 'Murhasta Tuli Totta' album and 'Mestaajat Areenalla' EP. The group changed shape again 2000, installing Karl-Heinz von Bismarck (Henri Urponpoika Sorvali) on bass and Hermann The German (Marko Tarvonen) on the drums. Both Sorvali and Tarvonen hold credits with MOONSORROW and THE WICKED. The bass player also has ties to KORPIKLAANI, ENSIFERUM, BARATHRUM and FINNTROLL whilst Tarvonen's history includes CHAOSBREED, KUHA and GOREWINTER.

The album 'Kotimaan Katsaus' saw delivery in 2000. The Kråklund imprint then issued EPs 'Bad Boys Plays Goodman' in 2001, 'Euroviisut' in 2002 and 'Pohjanmaan Kautta' during 2003. This last single featured guests Pate Mustajärvi of POPEDA and Vesku Jokinen of KLAMYDIA. LARHARYHMÄ third full-length, 'Teho-osasto', then followed.
