Biography

Villeneuve d'Asq, Lille based Death Metal band LOUDBLAST formed in 1985 with vocalist / guitarist Stéphane Buriez, guitarist Nicolas Lecclerq, bassist Francois Jamin and drummer Joris Terrier. Opening recording sessions resulted in demo cassettes 'Behind The Dark Mist' in 1985 and 'Ultimate Violence' the following year. The group debuted commercially with the 1987 split LP, shared with AGRESSOR, 'Licensed To Thrash' on New Wave Records. A further four track demo, simply billed 'Loudblast', followed.

The success of this debut record enabled LOUDBLAST to tour Europe with the likes of HOLY MOSES, TANKARD and SODOM. Having recorded a demo entitled 'Bazooka Rehearsal ' in September 1988, which were sold on a mail order basis, LOUDBLAST signed to Jungle Hop Records and released their first full blown album, 'Sensorial Treatment', at the close of 1989. A further release, 'Total Virulence', followed; after which Terrier quit, his place being taken by ex-AGGRESSOR drummer Thierry Pinck.

1991's 'Disincarnate' was produced by noted Death Metal producer Scott Burns at Tampa's Morrisound studios in Florida and notably featured MASSACRE's Kam Lee on guest vocals for the track 'The Horror Within'. Upon its release the group toured as support to CANNIBAL CORPSE in France during mid 1991 before performing at the 'Monsters Of Death' festival the same year alongside MORGOTH, MASSACRE and IMMOLATION.

Following a tour with DEATH in Europe during 1992 the band parted ways with Pinck and adopted a quick replacement in Herve Coquerel. LOUDBLAST's 1993 album 'Sublime Dementia' was once again produced by Burns in Florida. The 1994 mini album 'Cross The Threshold' includes a cover version of SLAYER's 'Mandatory Suicide'.

LOUDBLAST reformed in 2002, bowing back in with the February 2004 opus 'Planet Pandemonium' released through Boycott Records. That same year Stéphane Buriez took on the role of producer for X-VISION album recordings. Subsequently, Listenable Records re-issued the 'Planet Pandemonium' album with new cover art in 2005.
