Singer EILERA (a.k.a. Aurélie) had made her name vocalising for Montpellier acts CHRYSALIS and KALISIA before striking out solo for a Celtic styled Alt-Rock solo career. Working with guitarist Loïc Tézénas the debut album 'Facettes' emerged in April 2003. For live work the duo employed stage musicians keyboard player Pascal Cavréra, drummer Jeff Broutin plus cellists Sébastien Charles and Marianne Canolle.

In December the following year Finnish label Spinefarm signed EILERA, with album recordings, produced by Hiili Hiilesmaa, conducted in Helsinki. Session musicians included Pasi Heikkilä on bass, Antti Lehtinen on the drums and Ian McCamy on Irish violin. An EP, 'Precious Moment', preceded the album.
