WARNING

Biography

WARNING, initially fronted by Raphael 'Rapha' Garrido, were a riff hungry, French Metal band who, like their compatriots, managed to maintain a cult following outside of their native France despite singing in their mother tongue. Original drummer Henry Banbut was replaced by Gerald Manceau and Alain Bernette lost his place to Michel Ayme by the time the band's second album (released as 'Warning', but known by fans as 'Warning II' or 'Rock City') made its debut in the stores.

Produced by Dieter Dierks, known for his high profile successes with the SCORPIONS, and engineered by former ACCEPT guitarist Michael Wagener, the second WARNING album impressed many fans of Euro Metal and earnt the French outfit a reputation for offering often ferocious guitar pyrotechnics.

Two years passed before the band re-emerged with a new deal with French company Columbia, (no relation to the CBS imprint) and a third album, the aptly titled 'Metamorphose'.

The band had parted ways with vocalist Raphael Garrido prior to the album being recorded, the singer being replaced by Francois Petit. Guitarist Didier Bernoussi had also left the group, leaving Christophe Aubert to take all the kudos for the impressive display of axemanship on show.

Sadly Aubert would pass away on the 16th August 1994. In his memory a tribute album was released in 1998 entitled 'Shooting Star', contributors included PATRICK RONDAT and members of VULCAIN and HEADLINE.
