Biography

Schwarzenfeld, East Bavaria's DEADLOCK, created during 1997, is delivers Vegan, straight edge melodic Death Hardcore. The group debuted with a self-titled, four track 7" vinyl single produced by Tobias Pirtsch in 1999. Winter Recordings issued 'I'll Wake You...When Spring Awakes' in 2000. DEADLOCK at this juncture involved singer Johannes Prem, guitarist Sebastian Reichl, bass player Hans-Georg Bartmann and drummer Tobias Graf.

'The Arrival' album followed up in 2002. For these sessions Sebastian Reichl laid down all guitar work, despite having added second guitarist Thomas Gschwender, whilst Sabine Weniger provided vocals and keyboards in a guest capacity. Bass was now in the hands of Thomas Huschka.

Lifeforce Records took the band on for June 2005's 'Earth.Revolt'. Deadbutcher Records issued 'Earth.Revolt' as a limited edition vinyl run of 500 copies. Another change of membership had Gert Ryman taking over Gschwender's position on second guitar.

Sabine Weniger, who had contributed heavily to the band's past three recordings, now joined the band in an official capacity. DEADLOCK recorded a further album 'Wolves' between September and November 2006. The album, released in April 2007, was mixed by Jacob Hansen. Japanese editions hosted an extra track, a techno version of 'Code Of Honor'.

'The Manifesto' album, again mixed by Jacob Hansen, was scheduled for release on 17th November 2008 and in the U.S.A. on 6th January 2009 via Lifeforce Records.CD and limited edition box variants came clad in different sleeve art. A promotional video for the track 'The Brave / Agony Applause' was filmed with director Philipp Hirsch.

In April 2009 DEADLOCK welcomed aboard new member, bassist John Gahlert of FALL OF SERENITY, STOLEN PLEASURE and BURIED GOD repute, as replacement for Thomas Huschka.
