DARK were created during 1991 as a covers act playing the Death Metal favourites by such artists as SEPULTURA, DEATH and MORBID ANGEL. DARK's first compositions of their own surfaced on the 1994 demo 'Visions', a cassette which was limited to 300 soon sold out copies.

The band debuted commercially for G.U.N. Records in 1997 with the 'Endless Dreams Of Sadness' album. Touring in Europe during March of 1997 saw the band forming up a package billing alongside THERION, SENTENCED, ORPHANAGE and MY DYING BRIDE for the 'Out Of The Dark III' festivals. The group then followed up with 'Seduction' in 1998.

Vocalist Michael Löchter would lose his place for the third album ''Revolution'. Guitarist Mathias Fickert took the lead vocal role on the record which included an ambitious stab at U2's Pride (In The Name Of Love). DARK drummer Jochen Donauer would session on the debut album from Progressive Metal band SUNBLAZE.
