Biography

MAJESTY is a Power Metal band out of Lauda, Baden-Württemberg fronted by half Arabian singer Tarek "Metal Son" Maghary. MAJESTY, initially a trio of Maghary, guitarist Udo Keppner and the then sixteen year old drummer Ingo Zadravec, arrived during 1997. Soon after the band's formation Markus Pruszydlo was added on keyboards. Enlisting former GATECRASH bassist Martin Hehn, MAJESTY emerged touting an eponymous 1998 demo tape, followed by a second effort 'Metal Monarchs'. The departure of Pruszydlo during 1999 saw the vacancy swiftly filled by Andreas Moll of WILD MAGICS. The band's debut album 'Keep It True', completely self-financed by the band, would be released by the Russian Irond label. Drummer Ingo Zadravec later made way for Michael Gräter.

MAJESTY signed to the domestic Massacre label for the 'Sword & Sorcery' album. Undoubtedly inspired by MANOWAR the band wore their influences proud laying down a version of 'Battle Hymn' for a tribute album. The album would not only included cover art from long term MANOWAR collaborator Ken Kelly but even had Ross the Boss guesting a guitar solo on the track 'Heavy Metal'. Vinyl versions of the album added an extra exclusive track 'Ride And Fight'.

Erstwhile EMPIRE and VANIZE guitarist Rolf Munkes joined MAJESTY in early 2003, making his debut with the album 'Reign In Glory', recorded at Roxx studios in Pulheim with producer Stefan Kaufmann of ACCEPT and U.D.O. repute. The release party show for 'Reign In Glory' would be captured on both film and audio for issue as the 'Metal Law' box set. This limited edition pack also included a brand new studio song 'Metal Law'.

Later that year the industrious Munkes founded a fresh side project too dubbed RAZORBACK, a collaboration with former COMPANY OF SNAKES vocalist Stefan Berggren, ex-SHYLOCK guitarist Chris Heun and the erstwhile VANIZE rhythm section of bassist Marcus Bielenberg and drummer Pierre Fienhold.

MAJESTY underwent changes in April of 2004, losing rhythm guitarist Udo Keppner and replacing bassist Martin Hehn with Marcus Bielenberg. German gigs into May, having drafted new rhythm guitarist Björn Daigger of IRONY, ANGUISH, RESPAWN INC. and INTO DARKNESS repute, saw the band hooking up with U.D.O. and REBELLION. A new MAJESTY album would be crafted in the Summer of 2005 with production delegated once again to Stefan Kaufmann.

A band offshoot saw Björn Daigger working with RESPAWN INC. colleague Fabian Pospiech, Chris Merzinsky of MIDNATTSOL and ex-ANGUISH sibling Sven Daigger on a project billed R.I.P. ("Raw Intense Power"). Maghery unveiled plans for a conceptual album bearing the title DAWNRIDER. A myriad of guest musicians set to donate their talents to the endeavour included James Riviera of HELSTAR, Marc Shelton and Hellroadie from MANILLA ROAD, ex-MANOWAR guitarist Ross The Boss, Rolf Munkes and Michael Graeter of MAJESTY, Michael Seifert from REBELLION, Sven D'Anna of WIZARD, Andreas Babuschkin of PARAGON, Juergen Aumann of FINAL BREATH and Oliver Weinsheimer from SHADOWS OF IGA.

MAJESTY returned in February 2006 with the 'Hellforces' album, which hit the national German charts at number 100, but parted ways with guitarist Rolf Munkes shortly afterward. His replacement would be former NECROPHAGIST and DEFEATED SANITY man Christian Münzner. Rolf Munkes joined the TONY MARTIN band for Russian concerts in November 2006.

MAJESTY signed a management deal with the MANOWAR owned Magic Circle Music set up in November.

Christian Münzner joined Swedish technical Death Metal outfit SPAWN OF POSSESSION in June 2009.
