Melodic Power Metal band CASUS BELLI, founded during 1997 and fronted by former SPITFIRE and CONDEMNATION vocalist Panos Deddes alongside his CONDEMNATION colleague guitarist Panos Arvanitis. Apparently Deddes, relocating to England for a period, was amongst the frontrunners for the JUDAS PRIEST vacancy prior to forging CASUS BELLI.

Initial demo tracks, which saw collaboration from RAGE mentor Peavy Wagner on the songwriting front, emerged in 1998. The band would issue their debut album 'Mirror Out Of Time' during November 2001. For these recordings the duo were joined by NIGHTFALL bassist Fotis Anagnostou, drummer Fotis Gianakopoulos and keyboard player Bob Kotsonis, another SPITFIRE credited musician. Katsionis and Fotis Giannakopoulos teamed up with SEPTIC FLESH in January 2003.

That Summer Katsionis united with VALANOS, a new act assembled by the ex-SPITFIRE, METALIUM, KINGDOM COME and HELLOWEEN drummer Mark Cross, PHANTOM LORD vocalist Vasili Axiotes alongside former SPITFIRE colleagues guitarist Elias Logginedes and bass player Gus McRicostas.
