Originally known as GORE-FLIX and formed in 1989, the Dutch quintet changed titles to CONSOLATION due to increasing line-up changes.

the new handle the group submitted the track 'Eye Of The Storm' to the 1992 compilation album 'And Justice For None' before new vocalist Manoloxx, of BUBONIC PLAGUE and CARDINAL, was added later in the year.

Having signed to Displeased Records, CONSOLATION released their debut CD, a split effort with NEMBRONIC HAMMERDEATH, in 1993, following it up in 1996 with the 'Brave Melvin From The Southern Point' record. CONSOLATION members united with personnel from NEMBRIONIC in early 2002 announcing a new, less than subtly titled, act FUCKFACE. In March of 2005 Manoloxx joined Black Metal band APOCRYPHA.
