In May of 2005 AYREON mentor Arjen Anthony Lucassen, a seasoned scene veteran of BODINE and VENGEANCE, unveiled his new band project STREAM OF PASSION, featuring Mexican singer Marcela Bovio of ELFONIA, one of the vocalists on AYREON's 2004 Rock Opera 'The Human Equation', and US female guitarist Lori Linstruth of WARBRIDE repute. Completing the band would be Mexican pianist Alejandro Millan, another ELFONIA member, and Dutchmen drummer Davy Mickers and bass player Johan van Stratum from the Rock Academy in Tilburg. The band announced label deals with Sony/BMG Benelux for Europe and Inside Out Music for USA and Canada.

With debut album 'Embrace The Storm' entering the national Dutch charts at number 27, the projects live debut came with a three song set delivered to Sony executives in September. A live concert album and DVD package, 'Live In The Real World', featuring a cover version of LED ZEPPELIN's 'When The Levee Breaks', arrived in June 2006. In outside activity, Lori Linstruth contributed session guitar on OVERDRIVE and LOCOMOTIVE BREATH guitarist Janne Stark's November 2006 MOUNTAIN OF POWER tribute collection.

STREAM OF PASSION played alongside XANDRIA and ANATHEMA at the Circo Volador in Mexico City on October 14th. The band scheduled a UK appearance for the Classic Rock Society in January 2007. However, this was cancelled when British immigration officials denied access to the country for the band's Mexican contingent, Marcela Bovio and Alejandro Millan.

In a surprise move, band mentor Arjen Lucassen quit STREAM OF PASSION in March 2007 in order to prioritise AYREON. Within quick succession, both Lori Linstruth and Alejandro Millan also exited. However, Marcela Bovio, Johan van Stratum and Davy Mickers vowed to continue.

In 2008 Eric Hazebroek featured with THE COMEBACK, an ambitious conceptual project, involving an album and a graphic novel comic strip based on the character of a rock star in a coma, led by CARDAMON and SOULSTITIA musician Kevin Storm.

Marcela Bovio featured as guest singer on THE GATHERING's 2009 album 'The West Pole'. In June STREAM OF PASSION issued the album 'The Flame Within', this effort hitting the Dutch national charts at no. 57. The band featured on the bill of the DORO headlined 'Metal Female Voices Fest VII' on 18th October 2009 at Oktoberhallen in Wieze, Belgium.
