Biography

Blasphemous Death Metal act VULTURE LORD made their mark with the 'Possessing The Priest' demo of 1991. Band mentor Kat Ghil Northgrove, originally the band's drummer before switching to guitar then lead vocals, had previously operated with FAUN and ETERNALLY YOURS, the latter a venture in alliance with Eswiel of BLOODSWORN. The following year a record contract was gained with the Warmaster label but the band splintered.

Undaunted, Kat Ghil Northgrove and drummer Ravenloft created COFFIN OF LAMENT. Northgrove and Ravenloft subsequently forged VULTURE LORD in union with Trondr Nefas of URGEHAL, KVIST and BLOODSWORN, Razaak of MOON LORE and Halvard W. Hagen of KVIST. However with Razaak concentrating on his priority act MOON LORE the band was put on hold. With the line-up stabilised once more the group recorded the 1997 five track demo session 'Exorcism Of The Holy Ghost'. This release, which featured no bass guitar, had Northgrove as vocalist, Nefas on guitar and Ravenloft on drums. Reaction was such that a deal was forthcoming from Head Not Found Records. Their bad luck with labels would surface again though and no product was issued.

Another cassette, billed as 'Desire For The Dead', was then circulated. No less than eight positive responses were forthcoming and VULTURE LORD opted to sign with the Norwegian Flesh For Beast label. A further release, the six-track CDR 'Kill The Children Of God', was also to emerge in 2000. Constant re-shuffles of the line up dragged the recording process on until late 2001. The album included a cover version of the SATHANAS track 'Jaws Of Satan' with vinyl versions adding two exclusive tracks 'Blodhevn' and 'Armageddon'. The recording line-up for the June 2002 debut 'Emancipate The Dogs Of War' found Northgrove and Nefas joined by guitarist Diabolus and drummer Uruz. With the sessions complete Angelicus Noctum entered the fold as bassist in April but upon the eve of release Endechrist took the drum position.

VULTURE LORD recoirded an album entitled 'Desecration', these sessions seeing a cover version of VULCANO's 'Dominos Of Death', but this remasined vaulted.
