Biography

Horten Black Metal combo GRAVFERD would employ Stian of HOGGORM and NIDINGR as session guitarist. Drummer Morten Strange is active with a further Black Metal act MUSPELLSHEIM, Gothic Rockers MUS ZELT as well as HOGGORM and his Electronica solo venture METRONOME. Members also operate in THE FINAL HOLOCAUST. Guitarist Larsen had formed the band together with Strange during 1995. An opening demo set, entitled 'Mjølner I Kvitekrists Åsyn', was recorded utilising Løw on guitar and keyboards. Recorded on a four track machine, only 300 copies were distributed.

GRAVFERD re-assembled in 1996, drafting singer Abomonator and bassist Svalestad to re-record the demo's lead track for inclusion on the compilation album 'Voices Of Death'. The following a second demo, 'Av Hedensk Blod', was recorded. 400 copies were distributed through Eerie Productions. The band donated a further song to the 'Voices Of Death 2' compilation. Løw then opted out but a 1998 demo 'Nightplay' saw the inclusion of session guitarist Butch. In 1999 Butch was superseded by Blargh from NIDINGR as the band set to work on debut album tracks. However, this proposal was never realised and only some of this material saw issue in demo format.

GRAVFERD went into hiatus, re-awakening during 2006 with a demo billed 'Philosophize'. Germany's Northern Silence Productions compiled the earlier demo sets for release as the 'Demonized' album. Meantime, GRAVFERD utilised Multimono Studio to record a fresh album, 'The Great Curse'. At this juncture the group was quoting a membership of vocalist Abominator, guitarists Svalestad and Larsen, bassist Drap and drummer Strangulation.
