Quite an illustrious name in the annals of Black Metal. The early 90's Death Metal act OLD FUNERAL boasting latter day members of premier acts including Ali Gator, Abbath Doom Occulta of IMMORTAL, Demonaz Doom Occulta (Harald Naevdal) of IMMORTAL, John Tonsberg of HADES ALMIGHTY and even Varg Vikernes later of BURZUM infamy. OLD FUNERAL was in fact a side project of Vikernes' main act at the time SATANAEL.

Ali Gator, (real name Tore Brathseth) known for his endeavours with the underground 'Slayer' magazine much later resumed musical activity with the spoof act DESEKRATOR. Outside activities saw Bratseth contributing guest vocals to AMOK's cover of the SEX PISTOL's 'Bodies' on their 2001 'Lava Dictatorship' demo.

The old tapes were dusted down for release by the Dutch Hammerheart concern. Vikernes himself as apparently dismissed OLD FUNERAL as "Boring"!
