Biography

Sunndalsøra Black Metal act forged in 1995 by THE FLESH drummer Kjetil Hektoen and guitarist Gunnhild Bratset. Later that same year the duo relocated to Oslo, briefly employing bassist Gunnleik "Ask" Fjellseth. An initial set of demos laid down in 1996 would see Thomas Kjørnes sessioning on bass guitar. Subsequently, Magnus Krogsveen on guitar and Martin Løchsen handling keyboards enrolled, but both would opt out before the close of the year. The founding pair retired to the Hov Studios in Sunndalsøra in August to cut a further demo 'Awaiting The Rise Of The Forestgod'. Hot Records picked this track for inclusion on the high profile compilation album 'The Rape Of The Holy Trinity' released in 1997.

Hot Records offered an album contract and, inducting bassist Martin Rafoss, ENTHRAL set to work on a debut album, 'Prophecies Of The Dying', recorded over just four days in May 1997 at Stovner R.F Studios. Session soprano vocals came courtesy of Ingrid Skretting of LICORICE. Upon completion, the group recruited second guitarist Espen Simonsen, previously a member of THE FLESH.

Former DIMMU BORGIR man Stian Aarstad performed keyboards on the album 1998 'The Mirror's Opposite End', laid down at Frogner Lyd Studios. Once again Ingrid Skretting supplied ethereal vocals. Extracurricular concerns saw Kjetil Hektoen also as a member of CREST OF DARKNESS and SJODOGG whilst bassist Martin Rafoss briefly joined LUNARIS in 2000.

In 2002 ENTHRAL signed with the Dutch label Displeased Records for the album 'Subterranean Movement'. Kjetil Hektoen joined THE LEGION as lead vocalist in December 2005.
