The TACTILE GEMMA project, a union of multi-instrumentalist Rune SörgÃ¥rd and two of Norway's leading female vocalist in Mari Edvardsen of THE 3rd AND THE MORTAL and sibling Monika Edvardsen of experimental Metal band ATROX, was conceived during 1997.

The first demo recordings of this alliance, the two tracks 'Blackberry Jam' and 'Très Avant Garde', prompted a deal from the French Season Of Mist label for the eponymous November 2001 debut.
