Gothenburg's Death Metal band DESCENDING was formulated during mid 2005 by erstwhile members of SCENSKRÄCK, lead guitar player Rickard Apelstav, rhythm guitarist Anders Lundvall and Alexandra Andersson on the drums. That same Summer the bass player Michael Skalenius joined the band. A temporary vocalist was installed but soon departed and in November Kristofer Boström enrolled as new frontman.

DESCENDING lost Andersson's services in 2006, the drummer relocating to the USA. A substitute named Rasti briefly occupied the position prior to Simon Zachrisson filling the vacancy. That Autumn the band recorded tracks for a debut EP entitled 'End Of Eternity'. Upon conclusion of these sessions Skalenius quit to focus on an athletic career. Joakim Bryngelsson took his place.
