Biography

The JONAS HANSSON BAND was led by the renowned Swedish guitar virtuoso JONAS HANSSON, an erstwhile pivotal member of 80s Rockers SILVER MOUNTAIN. Joining Hansson would be vocalist Mike Stone, former PIPEDREAM, ALICE COOPER and ALCATRAZZ drummer Jan Uvena and NEW ENGLAND and ALCATRAZZ bassist Gary Shea. The band debuted in 1994 with the 'No.1' outing followed in 1996 by 'Second To None' album released by Roadrunner Records. The second outing would see Stone and Shea both out of the picture with bassist Marten Andersson and vocalist Stanley Rose in position. Irish born DAVID SWAN MONTGOMERY, previously with UK act TILT and Los Angeles unit CARRERA, would take the vocal reins for the 1999 album 'The Rocks'.

By 2000 both Hansson and Andersson had created LEGACY with erstwhile LOST BREED vocalist Chris Roseberry for an eponymous album. The bass player would also operate with Metal band LIZZY BORDEN appearing on their 2001 record 'Deal With The Devil'. Hansson reforged his links with his former colleagues Anders Johansson, Per Stadin and Jens Johansson for a reunion SILVER MOUNTAIN record 'Brakin' Chains' the same year.

DAVID SWAN MONTGOMERY would issue the Celtic flavoured 'New Grange' solo album on Waterark Records and contribute heavily to the New Age HOLLIENEA records' Visions Of The Grail' and 'Ascending Souls'. By 2003 Mike Stone had joined QUEENSRYCHE as a guitarist. In early 2004 Andersson would join GEORGE LYNCH's band for national touring in March. Later that same year Andersson was revealed to be part of the re-billed LIZZY BORDEN line up in the all new guise of STARWOOD. 2005 found Montgomery working with guitarist IAIN ASHLEY HERSEY.

In 2006 Jonas Hansson released a further solo album, 'Valhallarama'. For this effort Hansson handled all aspects of the recording including guitar, vocals, all instruments, production, engineering, mixing and mastering. Hansson contributed session guitar on OVERDRIVE and LOCOMOTIVE BREATH guitarist Janne Stark's November 2006 MOUNTAIN OF POWER tribute collection.
