Biography

Death Metal act AEON was forged in Östersund during mid 1999 by a quartet of erstwhile DEFACED CREATION players, namely singer Tommy 'Blackblood' Dahlström, guitarist Zeb 'Nathzion' Nilsson, bassist Johan Hjelm and Arttu Malkki on the drums. Dahlström and Nilsson also hold credits with DIABOLICUM. Subsequently Morgan Nordbakk was added as second guitarist. Demos produced by Johan Hjelm and recorded at the Courthouse Studios in Ȫstersund in late 1999 apparently prompted offers of contracts from Near Dark Productions, Wicked World and Black Mark but AEON held out for a better offer. The group duly signed with Deathvomit, a subsidiary of US label Necropolis Records, to issue all six demo tracks as the 'Dark Order' EP.

Nordbakk was superseded by Daniel Dlimi, this latest recruit citing credits with DIVINE DESECRATION, SANCTIFICATION, SOULDRAINER and THE EQUINOX OV THE GODS. AEON replaced Malkki with Nils Fjellström of CHASTISEMENT, SOULDRAINER and SANCTIFICATION during June of 2002. Fjellström joined IN BATTLE in 2003 with Dlimi following in 2004.

AEON signed to Unique Leader Records for a 2004 album 'Bleeding The False'. In September 2006 the group, bringing in new bassist Max Carlberg, switched labels to Metal Blade Records. Live work in October 2006 was suspended when Tommy Dahlström had an appendix operation.
