Biography

RUINS OF TIME, hailing from Stockholm and going by the LEGACY title in their formative years, notably included vocalist Martin Missy from cult 80s German Thrash band PROTECTOR. The band was forged during 1997 by Greek guitarist Christos Chatsikonstandinos and Chilean drummer Juan Araya. The band debuted in 1999 with a self financed album 'For A New Dawn'. During this year both founding members would also be active with Grind act DISASTER, but would relinquish these positions in early 2000.

Missy would enroll during 2001 and features on the 'Timetraveller' follow up, recorded with Anders Eriksson at Offbeat Studio in Stockholm. The German singer had, since breaking away from PROTECTOR in December of 1989, kept away from the music scene for over a decade. Missy had even gone into the respectable world of banking before relocating to Sweden in 1995. Upon completion of the 'Timetraveller' record, RUINS OF TIME inducted bassist Oskar Göransson. Konstandinos and second guitarist Mathias Öjermark are also active with Black Metal band SAURON. Araya also drums for Grindcore band PLAGUE DIVINE. Missy spread his talents by also fronting Växjö Thrash quartet TALION.

In 2004 Martin Missy re-emerged fronting PSYCHOMANTHIUM, an "old-school Speed/Thrash metal" band featuring ARKHAM 13 guitarist Derek 'Derekonomicon' Schilling, the INTERNAL BLEEDING and CATASTROPHIC credited bassist Brian Hobbie and ARKHAM 13 drummer Ant Ichrist. The band signed to Poland's Still Dead Productions for a debut album 'Death Attack'. The band evolved into PHIDION.
