High class Christian Metallers VENI DOMINE has established itself with a brace of superb albums of orchestral Metal. Classical influences abound and the band are even unafraid to use chanting monks for effect! VENI DOMINE's first brace of albums were produced by HEAVY LOAD's Wahlqvist brothers Ragne and Styrbjörn. The band was rooted in an earlier act dubbed GLORIFY, a Sollentuna based union of ex-DISCIPLES guitarist Torbjörn Weinesjö, his sibling drummer Thomas, singer Fredrik Ohlsson and bass player Anders Olofsson. In 1988 Olofsson was supplanted by Magnus Thorman and the group adopted the revised title of SEVENTH SEAL, performing at the British Christian 'Greenbelt' festival under that name during 1990. This show resulted in a deal with the British based Kingsway label. However, due to a proliferation of acts titled SEVENTH SEAL the name VENI DOMINE was decided upon.

As VENI DOMINE the band debuted with the 1992 'Fall Babylon Fall' album, oddly initially recorded in Eastbourne, England during the summer of the previous year. Unsatisfied with the result the band pulled in the Wahlqvist brothers to complete the job back in Sweden. Issued through the Christian Rex label it would soon make an impression upon the regular Rock market. The cover artwork for 'Fall Babylon Fall' was executed by the highly rated fantasy artist Rodney Matthews.

VENI DOMINE toured Germany in March 1996 on a bill with SAVIOUR MACHINE and SOUL CAGES to further promote the 'Material Sanctuary' album, released by Massacre Records in Germany and once again clad in a superb Rodney Matthews sleeve design. Keyboards on the album were donated by Mats Lidbrandt. With renewed interest generated by the second record Massacre Records re-released debut 'Fall Babylon Fall' in 1997 complete with 'Visions' as a bonus track.

For the third album, 'Spiritual Wasteland' released during 1998, VENI DOMINE inducted new members bass player Gabriel Ingemarson and BISHOP GARDEN keyboard player Mattias Cederlund.

Vocalist Fredrik Ohlsson also fronts HOAX, an outfit featuring ex-CANDLEMASS guitarist Lasse Johansson. The singer was also involved with ZOIC with the guitarist and his CANDLEMASS colleagues guitarist Mats 'Mappe' Björkman and drummer Janne Lindh for a well received 1996 album 'Total Level Of Destruction'.

VENI DOMINE's 2002 line-up stood at vocalist Fredrik Sjöholm (having changed his name from Ohlsson), guitarist Torbjörn Weinesjö, bass player Gabriel Ingemarson and Thomas Weinesjö on drums. A fourth album was being readied for late 2002 release.

Thomas Weinesjö acted as stand in drummer for NARNIA in July of 2004, their regular sticksman Andreas Johansson on the road with E-TYPE. Another project involving both Weinesjö brothers would be HERO, an alliance with SONS OF THUNDER singer Michael 'Hero' Hjelte and Björn Sundström.

VENI DOMINE returned with the Torbjörn Weinesjö produced 'IIII: The Album Of Labour', released in August through Rivel Records. That same year both Fredrik Sjöholm and Torbjörn Weinesjö guested on the debut DIVINEFIRE project album 'Glory Thy Name'. Tragically, former VENI DOMINE keyboard player P.A. Danielsson was killed in a car accident in Italy on 26th November 2004. He was 35 years old.

VENI DOMINE signed to German label MCM Music for a February 2006 album entitled '23:59'.

The band performed at the Halmstad, Sweden Christian Metal Endtime Festival in March 2007 alongside CRIMSON MOONLIGHT, ANTESTOR, DROTTNAR, EVERGRACE, HARMONY, INEVITABLE END, VARDOGER, VIRGIN FOREST and EXTOL.

Bassist Gabriel Ingemarson exited in November 2008.
