Heckmondwike Thrash Metal band. DARKENED, comprising Dave Pybus on vocals and guitar, Mike Rhodes on bass and Gary Querns on drums, released the demo 'Tales From The Darker Side' during June 1990. Both Pybus and Querns had previously been members of ANUL DEATH and also operated in MISFITS covers band THE HATEBREEDERS. DARKENED took on a more experimental stance to evolve into DREAMBREED for a 1991 demo 'Life Is A Hideous Thing', 1992 'Low' promotional session, 1993 'Three Worlds' demo and the 1995 album 'Sometime' album, issued on Coast to Coast Recordings, featuring MY DYING BRIDE's Aaron Stainthorpe on backing vocals. Pybus later formed DREAMWEAVER and would join ANATHEMA in 1998. He subsequently joined CRADLE OF FILTH.
