Biography

WILDFIRE was a London NWoBHM band with a bit more refinement than most. Vocalist Paul Mario Day was formerly vocalist with MORE and an early incarnation of IRON MAIDEN, bassist Jeff Brown was with biker band DUMPY'S RUSTY NUTS while guitarist Jeff Summers and drummer Bruce Bisland are both ex-WEAPON.

The band signed to Belgian concern Mausoleum Records and debuted with the John McCowan produced 'Brute Force And Ignorance' album, recorded at Shiva Studios in Brussels, in 1983. Follow up 'Summer Lightning' was also crafted at Shiva but this time around produced by Guy Bidmead. Unfortunately sales were not forthcoming and WILDFIRE folded in 1985.

Mario Day joined the revamped SWEET in 1985. Summers and Bisland joined ex-MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP vocalist Gary Barden in STATETROOPER. Bisland also served tenures with PRAYING MANTIS and the SWEET. During 2004 Summer and Bisland refounded STATETROOPER for the album 'The Calling'.
