Reading, Berkshire Deathcore band MALEFICE was formed during 2003 as a school band involving singer Dale Butler, guitarist Alex Vuskans, drummer Craig Thomas and Craig Fenner. Live work culminated in the opening EP 'Relentless'.

Anticulture Records signed MALEFICE in 2007. Producers Dan Weller and Justin Hill, both members of SIKTH, crafted the 'Entities' album at drummer Craig Thomas' parents house in Newport, South Wales. Justin Hill guested on the song 'Dreams Without Courage'. A promotional video for 'Risen Through The Ashes' was filmed and touring to promote the album included shows with SIKTH, GOD FORBID, SOULFLY and DEVILDRIVER.

MALEFICE played the UK 'Download' festival at Castle Donington in June 2008. That November the group signed with Metal Blade Records. Second album 'Dawn Of Reprisal' was delivered in February 2009. The 'Metal Blade Assault' European tour aligned the band with ANTERIOR and THE ROTTED for UK and Irish shows in April.
