Highly rated NWoBHM veteran act GRIM REAPER announced a long overdue reformation gig for April 2006 at the Lauda-Königshofen 'Keep It True VI' festival in Germany. However, the formation that took to the stage only featured one member of the classic line-up, vocalist Steve Grimmett. Besides his role with GRIM REAPER, Grimmett had also fronted Bristol Thrashers ONSLAUGHT and the more melodic LIONSHEART. The band line-up comprised Grimmett, LIONSHEART and SEVEN DEADLY SINS guitarist Ian Nash, bassist Ritchie Walker and former KILLERS and THE SHOCK drummer Pete Newdeck.

In late 2006 Grimmett unveiled his brand new Tewkesbury based band project, simply titled THE STEVE GRIMMETT BAND, this unit involving Nash, Walker and Newdeck. In parallel, the drummer also joined forces with a fresh, high profile project billed EDEN'S CURSE, an international melodic Rock outfit initiated by CRY HAVOC bassist Paul Logue with US vocalist Michael Eden and featuring German guitarist Thorsten Koehne, of ATTACK, DEMON DRIVE and CODE OF PERFECTION repute plus celebrated keyboard player FERDY DOERNBERG, a veteran holding association with ROYAL HUNT, ROUGH SILK, AXEL RUDI PELL and ULI JON ROTH amongst many others.

Some high profile media attention came the singer's way in early 2007 when Grimmett appeared in a Superbowl commercial for Garmin Satellite Navigation Systems. THE STEVE GRIMMETT BAND album recordings, provisionally billed as 'Personal Crisis', were co-produced by Newdeck and PINK CREAM 69 bassist Dennis Ward during February 2007.

The band performed a short run of dates allied with WAYSTED in June 2008. In July Grimmett was announced as fronting the Fargo, North Dakota Heavy Metal band GRIMMSTINE, assembled by METHUSELAH and DOZER guitarist Steve Stine in union with the SONS OF POSEIDON rhythm section of bassist Hat and drummer Dave Johnson. The latter also has credits with DENIED BY CHRIST and METHUSELAH.

The band partnered with TYGERS OF PAN TANG for UK tour dates in October and November 2008.
