LIES OF SMILES featured former AXIS and PAULINE GILLAN BAND guitarist Dave Little in union with vocalist / guitarist Ian Gilson and drummer Jeff Armstrong. The album 'Truth, Lies & Damnation', recorded at Trinity Studios in Newcastle upon Tyne, was produced by erstwhile TYGERS OF PAN TANG guitarist Fred Purser.

Subsequent recordings featured ex-AXIS and TANK guitarist Mick Tucker and former BLACK ROSE man Pat O'Neil. The band then expanded to include BERLYN singer TonyThurlow. Former PAULINE GILLAN BAND drummer Keeth Naylor then joined the fold.
