Biography

London act NEW DISEASE were formed in Spring 2002 by former TRICKY/MISSION guitarist Mark Gemini Thwaite and vocalist Jacob Lee Bane. The former had originally been working on GARY NUMAN material for his 'Hybrid' remixes album, during which time he assembled the first incarnation of NEW DISEASE working with Bane, QUEEN ADREENA bass player Richard Adams and ex-THE WILDHEARTS drummer Ritch Battersby. The group's status in the capitol was quickly raised with a series of high profile gigs to the likes of H.I.M., PRONG, SERAFIN and SKID ROW.

NEW DISEASE engaged with producer John Fryer, known for his work with NINE INCH NAILS, H.I.M. and STABBING WESTWARD, to record the 2003 'Axiomatic' EP. Later that same year a follow up ensued, utilising Canadian producer David Bottrill, of TOOL, GODSMACK and MUDVAYNE repute. Newly installed on drums would be Eddie Stratton of ONE MINUTE SILENCE. Spring 2004 saw the inclusion of a previously unreleased, Bottrill produced version of the track 'Song Of One Word' included on the April 'Metal Hammer' magazine 'Razor Vol.4' compilation cover CD.

Universal Records issued the 'Like Rain' single in May 2004, backed with 'Dirty Blood' in the UK, featuring guest vocals by Angela Murrell of STEREO MC's.
