Biography

With the split of HANOI ROCKS in 1985 songwriter and guitarist Andy McCoy formed the Pop Metal combo CHERRY BOMBZ. Joining him were former 'Legs And Co.' dancer and TOTO COELO singer Anita Chellemah (real surname Mahaderlan), former HANOI ROCKS colleagues guitarist Nasty Suicide and ex-CLASH, GENERATION X and HANOI ROCKS drummer Terry Chimes together with bassist Timo Caltio; a former HANOI ROCKS roadie. The latter was soon replaced by Dave Tregunna previously with of LORDS Of THE NEW CHURCH and SHAM 69.

CHERRY BOMBZ received a great deal of TV exposure, covered LOVERBOY's 'Hot Girls In Love' for their first single, and toured hard, but to no avail. The band split with Chellemah going on to a TV career whilst Suicide, Chimes and Tregunna formed the short lived WYLDE THINGS. Terry Chimes also had a stint with BLACK SABBATH in the late 80s, performing tours of South Africa and Europe. Dave Tregunna would turn up in KILL CITY DRAGONS and in 1993 the SLUMLORDS, founded by former CATS IN BOOTS guitarist Takashi O'Hashi.

Suicide, after working with ex-HANOI ROCKS frontman MICHAEL MONROE, would be reunited with Timo Caltio in CHEAP AND NASTY in the early 90s.

Nasty Suicide would ally himself with Monroe again in 1994 in DEMOLITION 23. Quite surreally Terry Chimes wound up in the BAY CITY ROLLERS!
