An Oxford Doom Metal act formed in 1989 by erstwhile MORDOR members guitarist Dave Smart and bassist Paul Oliver. Lead vocalist Martin Spear was added in 1991 after his former group MADAM ADAM had split. Guitarist Dave Capel has ties to TECHNIKILL.

SEVENCHURCH's demo, 'Nefarious', featured as one of the more successful entries in Radio One's 'Rock War' competition and, in 1992, the band signed to Noise and eventually released the debut album 'Black Insight'.
