Biography

BLOODSTREAM made their mark as a heavyweight Female fronted Metal band, formulated by guitarists Richard Pearl, previously with THE INQUISITION, and John Hanslip in 1995. BLOODSTREAM performed their debut gig in Bradford during July of 1997, headlining over NEOPHYTE, BULLWEEK and KRAWL. The band, citing a line up comprising Rick Peart on vocals and guitar, John Hanslip on guitar, Phil Shillham on bass and drummer Ste Ward debuted with the demo 'If It Moves...Kill It' that same year. By October of 1999 the EP 'Scarlet' emerged. This release was restricted to 500 copies.

For a period during 2000 BLOODSTREAM was fronted by singer Vinny. The group also put in an appearance at the Bradford 'Metal Inquisition' festival in 2000, sharing the stage with THE LORD WEIRD SLOUGH FEG, TWISTED TOWER DIRE, WYTCHFYNDE, SOLSTICE and THUS DEFILED. Subsequently female singer Brick, having previous affiliations with HYBERNOID, was added to the line up in mid 2001 and Ian Bell, a veteran of NECROMANCER, PURITY CRIES, DAWN RAISER and INSANE VIOLENCE, took command of the bass position. A full length album, 'Black Storm Harvest, surfaced in December of 2002. Guest vocals on the track 'Blood And Sand' came courtesy of erstwhile SABBAT and SKYCLAD vocalist Martin Walkyier. BLOODSTREAM grabbed a valuable support slot to ANTHRAX in March of 2003.

In mid 2004 Brick, having exited in February, was replaced by new singer Robb Philpotts of THE ENCHANTED. Further changes in the line up saw longstanding drummer Steve Ward opting out in favour of Adam Goldsmith, previously with THE SEVEN MACHINE. A November EP, recorded at Dreamcatcher Studios in Bingley and entitled 'Death - Speed - Hate', would include cover versions of ANTHRAX's 'Only' and DEAD KENNEDY's 'California Uber Alles'.

In mid 2005 Robb Philpotts would be found dividing his time between BLOODSTREAM and acting as temporary guitarist for Birmingham Death Metal band ENDLESS TORMENT.

BLOODSTREAM performed at the Bradford Rio on 31st March 2007, subsequently announcing the group had gone into stasis. Philpotts and Hanslip joined Thrashers LET 'EM BURN whilst Goldsmith enrolled with TRIBE.
