Biography

Hailing from Swindon in Wiltshire, Deathcore band ETERNAL LORD was created by former members of THE HUNT FOR IDA WAVE in 2005. The following year the band released a self-titled EP through Thirty Days Of Night Records. This was capitalised on by a split EP shared with Glasgow's AZRIEL. Shortly after these sessions vocalist Sam Ricketts decided to quit the band to become a tattoo artist. The band recruited Ivan Ferreira of THE HURT PROCESS as substitute, but his tenure proved brief. Edward Butcher, from THE HUNT FOR IDA WAVE and I KILLED THE PROM QUEENN, stabilised the position.

Signing to Ferret Music, ETERNAL LORD worked with band members Edward Butcher and drummer Stuart Mackay acting as producers at Studio 6 in Swindon on the full-length album 'Blessed Be This Nightmare' for issue in March 2008. The group at this juncture comprised Butcher, Mackay, guitarists Chris Gregory and Shaun Zerebecki with Nick Gardner on bass.

A North American tour alongside ALL SHALL PERISH, SINCE THE FLOOD and THE ACACIA STRAIN was announced for May 2008 but just prior to these dates Stuart Mackay quit unexpectedly, forcing ETERNAL LORD off the bill. Eddy Thrower was instated as new drummer in June. Further friction ensued, resulting in Edward Butcher's departure before the close of the year. Bassist Nick Gardner left soon after.

ETERNAL LORD folded on 6th January 2009. Zerebecki, Gardner, and Thrower forged WE STARE AT MIRRORS.
