Riverside / Corona, California based Christian Death Metal band IMPENDING DOOM, self-styled purveyors of "Gorship", was created by vocalist Brook Reeves and guitarist Manny Contreras alongside ex-members guitarist Chris Forno and drummer Isaac Bueno, during 2005. Greg Pewthers joined on third guitar following completion of an opening EP, 'The Sin And Doom Of Godless Men'. Evolving further, bass player David Sittig was added to the line-up.

Andy Hegg subsequently took the place of Bueno to record the album 'Nailed, Dead, Risen' with co-producers Alex Guajardo and Andrew Lomas as IMPENDING DOOM was signed by Facedown Records in January 2007. Forno then took his leave. With Andy Hegg increasingly prioritising his paralell sports career, IMPENDING DOOM was forced into using stand in drummer until Chad Blackwell stabilised the band again. Greg Pewthers was next to go, replaced by Cory Johnson.

Upon release, 'Nailed, Dead, Risen', hit no. 46 on the national Billboard charts. North American concerts had the group forging a road union with DEAD TO FALL, WINDS OF PLAGUE and WITH DEAD HANDS RISING.

Second album 'The Serpent Servant' was released on 31st March 2009. These tracks were produced by Daniel Castleman and AS I LAY DYING vocalist Tim Lambesis. 'The Serpent Servant' sold 4,300 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at no. 144 on the Billboard 200 chart. In April the band distributed the promotional video for 'More Than Conquerors', a live performance clip directed by Robby Starbuck.
