Biography
AMERICAN MAN was a short-lived, Los Angeles based Metal group formed by guitarist Tommy Thayer after the break up of BLACK N' BLUE. Tommy Thayer teamed up with his Portland ally Todd Jensen, previously having involvement with SEQUEL, in this group that would only reach the demo stage.
Todd Jensen would join HARLOW and, eventually, so would drummer Kevin Muriel under his rather better known surname of Valentine. Guitarist Brian Jennings had previously been with ROYAL COURT OF CHINA and he also contributed to the recording of the HARLOW album. The duo's next outfit was the modern edged SHAKE THE FAITH. Jensen would subsequently work with GRAHAM BONNET, PAUL RODGERS, ALICE COOPER, DORO and also join HARDLINE. Successively, the four-stringer joined DAVID LEE ROTH's and STEVE PERRY's touring bands.
Tommy Thayer, after a lengthy tenure working as GENE SIMMONS right hand man, famously joined the ranks of Rock legends KISS, substituting for ACE FREHLEY. Jenning persevered with SHAKE THE FAITH, albeit under the revised band title of NO. 9. By 2003 Jennings was involved in an all new band entitled CLOSURE.
