Biography
ARCADE was an act created from the disintegration of various cock rock era name bands that found themselves floundering in the late eighties as the fickle American media consigned many previously successful outfits to oblivion. The Los Angeles band started life as a solo vehicle for ex-RATT frontman STEPHEN PEARCY but soon evolved into a fully-fledged band titled TABOO. This act included former CINDERELLA drummer Fred Coury, erstwhile HEAD ON, BASTARD SONS OF GOD and SEA HAGS guitarist Frankie Wilsey (re-naming himself 'Wilsex'), erstwhile MICHAEL MONROE guitarist Johnny Angel and bassist Michael Andrews.
The new outfit ran into problems when it was revealed another act laid claim to the name TABOO and, dispensing with Angel in favour of guitarist Donnie Syracuse, swapped titles to ARCADE. The 'Arcade' debut was produced by rising star of the production world, David Prater, and a small percentage of tracks were co-written with Jim Vallance. Japanese versions included an extra bonus track 'Reckless'.
The follow up 'A/2' album found the band moving in punkier waters, with production duties handled by Attie Bauw. Following the break up of ARCADE Pearcy formed a punkier outfit, VICIOUS DELITE, with whom he recorded and a released self financed, limited edition EP and album during 1995.
The vocalist then formed VERTEX, an Industrial flavoured Hard Rock union between the singer, SAVATAGE and ALICE COOPER guitarist Al Pitrelli, noted Japanese Techno man Hiro Kuretani and former OZZY OSBOURNE, RAINBOW and URIAH HEEP bassist Bob Daisley, before involving himself in the reformation of RATT at the turn of 1997. Pearcy re-recorded 'Mother Blues' from the first ARCADE album for release on the RATT comeback release 'Collage'.
Pearcy bailed out of RATT once more in 2000 founding NITRONIC with Wilsex. Completing the line up were ex-JRZ SYSTEM men second guitarist Mark Zovon, bassist Troy Johnson and drummer Todd Roberson. Coury became part of the CINDERELLA reformation. Before long, Pearcy had re-activated his solo career through his own enterprising Top Fuel Records concern. Pearcy announced a fresh ARCADE product for November 2006, the CD and DVD souble set 'Alive - Unfinished Business'. The singer also held out the possibility of live shows.
