ASESINO is a BRUJERIA / FEAR FACTORY, Spanish language, old school Death Metal / Grind spin off established by guitarist Dino Cazares and drummer Raymond Herrera billed as "Asesino" and "Grenudo" respectively. Vocals and bass would be taken care of by STATIC-X man Tony Campos (a.k.a. "Maldito X"). Following recording of the 2002 Kool Arrow album 'Corridos De Muerte', Herrera stepped down, being superseded by Emilio Márquez of SADISTIC INTENT.

The band played a run of dates with STATIC-X, AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE and BLOODSIMPLE in June 2005. That same year Campos guested on the DIA DE LOS MUERTOS project album 'Day Of The Dead' assembled by BODY COUNT bassist Vincent Price, and guitarist Andres Jaramillo and drummer Alfonso Pinzon from the Colombian metal act AGONY.

ASESINO joined the tail end of the October 'Blackest Of The Black' tour in California, sharing stages in Dallas, San Antonio and Los Angeles with DANZIG, CHIMAIRA, BEHEMOTH, HIMSA and MORTIIS.

In January 2006 ASESINO entered Undercity Studios in Los Angeles to record new album 'Solo Putos Muertos Quedan', this effort being produced by Dino Cazares with Logan Mader, ex-MACHINE HEAD, SOULFLY and MEDICATION, acting as engineer. On September 2nd, Cazares debuted his new project band before a headline ASESINO set at the Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood, California. This band involved Tommy Vext of VEXT on lead vocals, Risha Eryavec from DECREPIT BIRTH on bass plus the VITAL REMAINS, DECREPIT BIRTH and NILE credited Tim Yeung on drums.
