Biography

Word leaked during September of 2002 MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx was assembling an interim band project whilst his priority act was inactive. By the following month it had been learned that Tracii Guns and Adam Hamilton, switching from bass to guitar, were working with Sixx and ADEMA's drummer Kris Kohls. Next to enrol would be rhythm guitarist John Corabi, former MÖTLEY CRÜE and UNION frontman as well as having credits as guitarist with RATT. Fronting the whole affair would be the as yet unknown singer London Legrand. This Los Angeles hairdresser had previously been assembling tracks with former DOKKEN guitarist GEORGE LYNCH, shelving these sessions to join BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION.

The band was dubbed at first by various press releases as COCKSTAR, then MOTORDOG and finally BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION.

In late November Kohls bowed out and BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION drafted Scot Coogan, a man citing credits with PAUL GILBERT, the LOGAN/ROBERTSON project and even SINÉAD O'CONNOR. The group revealed they were set to debut live as opening act to MUDVAYNE and TAPROOT at two Californian gigs in Ventura and Anaheim during mid December. The first of these gigs found the band running through a six song set comprising of L.A. GUNS 'Hellraisers Ball', three new songs 'I Don't Care', 'Right Before You Crack' and 'Brace Yourself' before closing with MÖTLEY CRÜE's 'Shout At The Devil' and 'Live Wire'.

Scot Coogan was loaned out to OTEP for touring in March as that same month John Corabi exited for a solo career. Coogan would take more time out from BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION in June, reacquainting himself with PAUL GILBERT for a tour of Japan.

Although having cut an album with producer Steve Thompson it seemed as though by August BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION had only landed a Japanese deal for the record. Indeed, indications that MÖTLEY CRÜE were set to reform for a farewell tour seemed to seal the band's fate. Although VINCE NEIL would initially slam suggestions of a reformation tour he subsequently warmed to the idea. The first concrete signals that Neil and Sixx had renewed their relationship came on 15th October when the vocalist was joined on stage by Sixx during Neil's solo performance at the Key Club in Hollywood, California. The duo, along with guitarist Tracii Guns, ran through several MÖTLEY CRÜE classics, including 'Piece Of Your Action', 'Shout At The Devil', 'Girls Girls Girls' and 'Looks That Kill'.

BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION set Christmas Day as the Japanese release date through Universal Records for their debut album 'Here Come The Brides', the record selling over 12,000 copies in its first week of release there. The band shortly afterward signed a three album US and European deal with the Sanctuary label. Given a March 2004 US release date 'Here Come The Brides' garnered valuable upfront exposure as the track 'Shut The Fuck Up' was used heavily for the documentary 'Death Or Glory', a study on the underground illegal car culture world. The record duly shifted just over 13,000 copies in its first week of US sales to debut on the Billboard charts at no. 92.

North American dates with headliners KISS commencing in June would have both POISON and BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION announced as support acts. However, within hours of that report Nikki Sixx stated that he would never tour alongside POISON, claiming he did not wish to be "attached to that kind of fake bullshit". Indeed, within days BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION had passed on the tour, opting to go out on a four week headline run in April supported by AMEN. Unfortunately this trek was affected by the cancellation of a scheduled Toronto gig as the band was denied entry across the Canadian border due to what Nikki Sixx described as "past felonies". One major gig came with the METALLICA headlined 'Download' festival in the UK in June, after which Nikki Sixx received special recognition from 'Metal Hammer' magazine with the 'Spirit Of Metal Hammer' award.

With the MÖTLEY CRÜE reunion swinging into full effect, BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION members announced they would persevere on the live circuit minus Sixx, albeit under a different band name. Stevo Bruno would be slated to cover the bass position. Meantime, Tracii Guns joined the band of former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist GILBY CLARKE for a handful of shows in South America in November.

As 2005 opened and US dates were scheduled Tracii Guns teased the media by maintaining secrecy as to the identity of a new bassist and second guitarist. Conjecture pointed to GINGER of THE WILDHEARTS as having filled the second post, these rumours proving true as ex-AMEN man Scott Sorry was confirmed for the bass position. It would also be learned that a BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION era track, a Guns / Sixx composition 'Sick Love Song', was recorded by MÖTLEY CRÜE for their 'Red, White & Crue' album.

Ginger's position in BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION was to last a matter of weeks, an announcement in early March confirming he had vacated his post due to personal issues. BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION,promoting second album 'Runaway Brides' released in September through Shrapnel Records, announced US tour plans for October and November partnered with ADEMA and TRASHLIGHT VISION. However, prior to this Guns hooked up with the members of ex-GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler's ADLER'S APPETITE to forge GUNS N' ROSES REVISITED for a series of August Asian gigs across Philippines, Singapore, Bali and Indonesia.

European gigs would be announced for the Winter of 2005 but pulled shortly afterward. In a surprise move, Tracii Guns promptly joined QUIET RIOT, forcing BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION to reject split rumours. However, Guns would decamp from DuBrow's camp within a matter of weeks. In January 2006 BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION drummer Scot Coogan joined STEPHEN PEARCY's live band. Relocating to New Hampshire upon his exit, bass player Scott Sorry duly forged Punk act HATED PIGS, announcing this project in August 2006. The bassist then enrolled into the ranks of THE WILDHEARTS in November.

In 2008 it was learned that London Legrand had rekindled his pre-BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION partnership with GEORGE LYNCH for a band dubbed SOULS OF WE and an album 'Let The Truth Be Known'. In April 2009 Tracii Guns allied with singer Scott Foster Harris to front a brand new band called THE TRACII GUNS LEAGUE OF GENTLEMEN.
