Biography

COL. PARKER is made up of four Rock n' Roll veterans. Fronted by singer Muddy Stardust (a.k.a. Mark Dutton), of BURNING TREE and L.A. GUNS repute, the band comprises guitarist GILBY CLARKE of GUNS N' ROSES and KILL FOR THRILLS repute, STRAY CATS drummer Slim Jim Phantom and keyboard player Teddy "Zig Zag" Andreadis, the latter citing credits with GUNS N' ROSES, DUFF McKAGAN, SLASH'S SNAKEPIT and ALICE COOPER amongst many others. The band started life as a knockabout jam band entitled STARFUCKERS on the Californian club circuit performing cover sets honouring such artists as the ROLLING STONES, THE FACES, T REX and MOTT THE HOOPLE. A name switch to the more tactful COL. PARKER, a nod to the legendary Elvis manager, secured a deal with the V2 label.

The debut album, 'Rock n' Roll Music', included renditions of JANIS JOPLIN's 'Mercedes Benz' and the NEW YORK DOLLS' 'Pills'. The band revealed plans to tour North America as opening act to Blues legend BUDDY GUY in March of 2002.

Andreadis also operated as part of the all star GLAMNATION covers act. Muddy Stardust subsequently worked with erstwhile THE BLACK CROWES guitarist Marc Ford's solo band. In July 2008 Clarke and Stardust performed at the inaugural G-TARanaki 1st New Zealand International Guitar festival.
