Biography

Originally using the handle IVORY TOWER, MEDICINE WHEEL was formed in the spring of 1991 by former KEEL guitarist MARC FERRARI, following the break up of his then current band COLD SWEAT. Joined by vocalist Michael Mulholland, the band's line-up was bolstered with the addition of ex HERICANE ALICE guitarist Danny Gill and the rhythm section of bassist Robbie Harrington and drummer Ray Luzier.

MEDICINE WHEEL signed a deal with the Japanese Hard Rock specialist label Alfa/Brunette and the band's debut album was issued during 1994. In Europe the record was licenced to the German company Dream Circle. The track 'Pain' was included on U.S. magazine Metal Edge's 'The Best Of L.A. Vol. 1' compilation, released on T.S.G. Records in 1994.

A second MEDICINE WHEEL album, 'Immoral Fabric', emerged in 1997. Produced by Shay Baby it premiered the band's new vocalist Keith St. John (ex SUN KING). Both Ferrari and Mulholland featured as guests on the 1997 HOLLYWOOD UNDERGROUND album.

St. John formed BURNING RAIN with ex-LION and BAD MOON RISING guitarist DOUG ALDRICH for an eponymous 1999 album. That same year a third MEDICINE WHEEL album, 'Small Talk' for Red Engine Music produced by Pat Regan, was recorded by Ferrari, Luzier, Gill, bassist Ian Mayo and singer David Isaacs.
