In early 2003 the highly successful Christian Nu-Metal band P.O.D. parted ways with founding member Marcos Curiel. The guitarist soon established a venture in league with ex-GRAMMATRAIN vocalist Pete Stewart alongside bassist Tony Delocht and drummer Ernie Longoria, both members of San Diego act SPRUNG MONKEY, entitled THE ACCIDENT EXPERIMENT. The group debuted with the self financed 'Arena' EP in August of 2003.

THE ACCIDENT EXPERIMENT united with ELEMENT 80 for April 2004 US dates. Further, yet unexpected, exposure came the band's way in June when they were served with a cease-and-desist letter from legal representitives of the American Red Cross organisation. According to the letter, THE ACCIDENT EXPERIMENT's logo was in direct conflict with the interests of the American Red Cross.

THE ACCIDENT EXPERIMENT crafted the album 'United We Fear' in 2005. The band, signing to Rock Ridge Music, opened 2006 with January gigs in union with INDORPHINE and BOBAFLEX.

Although Marcos Curiel rejoined P.O.D. in January 2007, THE ACCIDENT EXPERIMENT continued. In April 2007 the group re-issued their previous EP, two previously-unreleased tracks, under the revised title of 'Arena'.

Curiel would be spotlighted in a fresh band project announced in mid July 2009. INTERVIEW was the name of a new California based band featuring Curiel, former ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA singer Lukas Ross, ex-CHEVELLE bass player Joe Loeffler, with David Buckner, ex-PAPA ROACH, on drums.
