Announced in 2009, DEUXMONKEY was initiated by former ANTHRAX guitarist Dan Spitz. The band also included Peter Baltes, of ACCEPT, on bass, Matt Thompson, from KING DIAMOND, on drums and A.O.H., of SHAOLIN DEATH SQUAD, on vocals. An opening press release decribed the band offering "a sound that represents that struggle, that determination and fight within human flesh to succeed and overcome."

DEUXMONKEY's first music was delivered online on 26th June with the track 'Anger Is Free'.
