Biography
Something of a Chicago supergroup, The B'ZZ, adopting an AOR / Melodic Rock stance, was formed from the ashes of biker band THE BOYZZ, a biker Boogie outfit whose 1978 'Too Wild To Tame' opus, released by Epic Records, had gained notoriety. Ex-members guitarist Michael Tafoya, guitarist / keyboard player Anatole Halinkovitch and bassist David Angel allied with former ROADMASTER and STEPPENWOLF drummer Stephen Riley. Vocalist Tom Holland had once fronted STEPPENWOLF. Backing vocals on the 1982 album, 'Get Up' produced by Tom Werman, are supplied by Max Gronentahl, later better known as MAX CARL.
The liaison was short-lived as Steve Riley swiftly upped and left for Los Angeles to eventually join W.A.S.P. after a short spell with KEEL. The drummer then enrolled into the ranks of L.A. GUNS for a lengthy tenure. Tom Holland stayed in Chicago to mastermind his own band, HOLLAND, who issued the 'Little Monsters' album through Atlantic in 1985.
Subsequently, Holland and Tafoya forged RAW DOGS. The guitarist then re-assembled THE BOYZZ during 1999.
