East Rochester, New York's ABYSMALL FALL, featuring BURIED BENEATH drummer Lord Iscariot (a.k.a. Shane Kendall) and guitar player Mourn, announced their arrival with the less than subtly titled 'Spit In The Face Of Christ' demo in 1999. Former bass player Wrath would make way for Krist (Kris Piper). The 'Borne Against' EP on Arcadia Productions, featuring a SACRIFICE cover version 'Homicidal Breath' and an interpretation of J.S. Bach's 'Bouree', followed up in 2000.

Kris Piper co-founded Goregrind outfit VENEREAL MESSIAH during 2005. He would also feature as a member of Death Metal band AGIEL.

Breaking a lengthy hiatus, ABYSMAL FALL returned with the full-length album 'Immaculate Deception' in July 2008 on the Dystopic Triad imprint, the album art for which featured a nun with a skullhead urinating in a church. This set hosted the CANDLEMASS cover version 'Solitude'. That October both early EPs were packaged together as the album 'A Decade Of Desecration'.
