Forged in 2005, Progressive Death Metal band (GOD-ROT), hailing from Churchville, Rochester in New York and self-described as "a mind boggling trip into grind core, death metal, and pop hard core with a distinct blend of vocal patterns only rivaled by choruses deep within ones psyche of fear and horror", comprises vocalist / guitarist R. Emmett Spence, from LOOPUS, SHAITHUS and SOOPI, vocalist / bassist Wally Willson, of DISTORTED, LOWKEY, MATRIKHORE, MOA, SHAITHUS and WINDBREED, plus drummer John Paradiso, of EVOKEN, MATRIKHORE, MOA and WITHERED EARTH.

In 2006 the band recorded a promotional CD single through Epitomite Productions called 'Demonic Cries I Crave'. Their next offering, also via Epitomite, was a 2007 split album, 'The Decayed State...', shared with ABACINATE.
