Biography
GLASS CASKET, previously entitled GADREL but taking on the new title inspired by the 'Snow White' fable, was originally assembled in Winston-Salem, North Carolina during the Summer of 2001. As GADREL the band issued a now highly sought after EP. Lyrically, GLASS CASKET employs Christian themes although the band has stated that the membership involves both Christian and non-Christian musicians. The core line-up comprised lead vocalist Adam Cody, guitarists Dustie Waring and Ian Tuten with Blake Richardson on drums. Several months later, Sid Menon, from the Indie group UPHELD, was acquired to fill the bass guitar position. Waring also held prior live experience with ACEDIA and formative high school outfit NARAYAN alongside Adam Cody, Blake Tuten and drummer Sanjay.
As GLASS CASKET, an opening three track demo secured the interest of Century Media affiliate Abacus Recordings and GLASS CASKET entered the studio with producer Jamie King to craft debut album 'We Are Gathered Here Today...' Bastardised Recordings took the album on for a European license.
GLASS CASKET guitarist Dustie Waring acted as temporary live filling for BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME in September of 2004. Drummer Blake Richardson followed suit in January 2005. Vocalist Adam Cody joined VEHEMENCE as temporary frontman for touring in the Spring then in September announced he was enrolling into the ranks on a permanent basis.
