Named in March of 2005, BEYOND FEAR is fronted by the WINTER'S BANE, JUDAS PRIEST and ICED EARTH credited frontman Tim "Ripper" Owens. The Ohio native had famously fronted major league Heavy Metal pioneers JUDAS PRIEST when they found themselves without a frontman when Rob Halford broke a two decade tenure. Stepping up to the mark, Owens, proving to be one of a handful of vocalists internationally that had the range and power to match his predecessor, sailed through auditions to head up JUDAS PRIEST for two studio albums, 'Jugulator' and 'Demolition' as well as a brace of live releases. His term of duty was cut short when Halford returned.

The solo project also saw`the inclusion of guitarists John Comprix, from 13 FACES and SPAWN, and MISSING SKIN's Dwane Bihary, bassist Dennis Hayes of WINTER'S BANE and SEVEN WITCHES repute with Bobby Jarzombek from SPASTIC INK, HALFORD and ICED EARTH on drums. The latter, joining SEBASTIAN BACH's band, would be superseded by Eric Elkins of ALL YOU FEAR and CRYPTKICKER.

A five track demo emerged in April. BEYOND FEAR made its international debut on 5th May at the 'BW&BK 6-Pack Weekend' festival in Cleveland. That August the band signed a label deal with Germany's SPV Records, Owens' former home with JUDAS PRIEST. BEYOND FEAR united with JON OLIVA'S PAIN and the solo band of SAVATAGE and TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA guitarist CHRIS CAFFERY for US live dates commencing 9th September in Cleveland.

On 15th December Tim Owens notably joined the ROADRUNNER UNITED conglomerate at the New York Nokia Theater for an all star Metal evening. The singer fronted up renditions of MERCYFUL FATE's 'Curse Of The Pharoahs', KING DIAMOND's 'Abigail' and ANNIHILATOR's 'Alison Hell' backed by SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser, ANNIHILATOR guitarist Jeff Waters, SLIPKNOT bassist Paul Gray and SOULFLY drummer Roy Mayorga.

BEYOND FEAR supported ANTHRAX on their European 2006 tour. They returned to the continent for a further round of dates allied with VICIOUS RUMORS and COURAGEOUS in November. In February 2007 Owens laid down his vocals on a cover version of JUDAS PRIEST's 'Exciter' at Diamond Recording and Productions in Houston, Texas for a tribute set. Owens was accompanied by Bobby Blotzer, RATT drummer and co-owner of the Diamond facility, Jerry Scott and Gregg Gill on guitar.

Dennis Hayes joined Owens in ICED EARTH during March 2007. However, by December Owens had been removed from his ICED EARTH role. In 2008, during BEYOND FEAR downtime, John Comprix and Eric Elkins forged side act LAW OF DESTRUCTION, alongside vocalist Scott Bryant and bassist Justin Endres of ODIOUS SANCTION and STRESSLORD plus rhythm guitarist Kyle Kniceley.

August 2008 would find Owens working up material for a solo album with former KISS and UNION guitarist Bruce Kulick acting as producer. Studio contributions came from guitarist Chris Caffery of SAVATAGE, guitar player Michael Wilton of QUEENSRYCHE, bassist Rudy Sarzo of WHITESNAKE and DIO with Simon Wright of AC/DC and DIO on the drums.

It was announced in December 2008 that Owens, together with guitarist Andreas Kisser, of SEPULTURA, drummer Jimmy DeGrasso, from ALICE COOPER and MEGADETH, and bassist David Ellefson, F5 and MEGADETH, would be touring Chile between 22nd and 27th January 2009 for five shows, in Santiagho, Valparaiso, Concepcion, Puerto Montt and Antofagasta, under the collective name HAIL!

Ripper Owens put out his debut solo album, 'Play My Game', in May 2009. Featured studio musicians included John Comprix of BEYOND FEAR, Mike Callahan of EARSHOT, Chris Caffery of SAVATAGE and ex-MEAT LOAF guitarist Bob Kulick. An extensive guest list of players included guitarists Doug Aldrich of WHITESNAKE, Michael Wilton of QUEENSRŸCHE, Jeff Loomis of NEVERMORE, Steve Stevens plus bassists Marco Mendoza, of WHITESNAKE and THIN LIZZY, Billy Sheehan of MR. BIG, Dave Ellefson of MEGADETH, Rudy Sarzo, of DIO, OZZY OSBOURNE and QUIET RIOT, James Lomenzo of MEGADETH, Tony Franklin of BLUE MURDER, Dennis Hayes of BEYOND FEAR and drummers Simon Wright, of AC/DC and DIO, Vinny Appice, of DIO and BLACK SABBATH, Ray Luzier of KORN, Bobby Jarzombek, of RIOT and HALFORD, and Brett Chassen.
