Noted East Lansdowne, Philadelphia Death Metal act GOREAPHOBIA was created during 1988 by guitarist Alex Bouks and lead vocalist / bass player Chris Gamble. With only one demo, and a 7" vinyl EP released by Relapse Records in 1991 entitled 'Omen Of Masochism', GOREAPHOBIA embarked on a large North American tour as the support act for New York's IMMOLATION in the summer of 1992.

GOREAPHOBIA fell apart soon after the solitary EP release. The band would employ drummer Craig Smilowski, later of IMMOLATION, for a term, replacing him in 1991 with the FREAKS ARISE credited Ken Masteller. Vocalist / bassist Mezzadurus (real name Chris Gamble) went on to create BLOODSTORM recording the 1997 album 'The Atlantean Wardragon' as well as putting himself out to loan to ABSU for live work. Another erstwhile GOREAPHOBIA member Alex Bouks would join Black Metal band PERVERSERAPH.

GOREAPHOBIA featured on the summer 2009 'Slaves to Society' U.S. tour featuring headliners MASTER and Ibex Moon Records labelmates DREAMING DEAD. For this reunion line-up founders Alex Bouks and Chris Gamble were joined by INCANTATION members guitarist John McEntee and drummer Jim Roe. The album 'Mortal Repulsion' was released on 18th August to coincide.
